The Got Users Growth Apprenticeship is for people looking to break into growth marketing at a startup — without paying for a pricey bootcamp or figuring everything out on their own. You’ll be working for a real company and getting paid for it.

This is a new program at Got Users and we’re accepting a small number of pilot apprentices.

What is growth marketing?

In a nutshell, it’s the art and science of getting more customers.

In practice, it can mean anything from setting up referral programs to running digital ads, conducting user interviews, setting up A/B tests, writing onboarding emails, breaking down Google Analytics data, wireframing new features, and much more.

Why do a growth apprenticeship?

All of these serve the main goal: becoming an advanced growth marketer.

Heads of growth can make over $200K per year with only a few years of experience (along with significant equity).

How does the apprenticeship work?

| 1. Self-Study | We’ll send you some intro material to learn the fundamentals of getting users.

You’ll apply it to a product you’d want to work for, and we’ll add you to a pre-apprenticeship Slack so you can get free advice and feedback on your work. | | --- | --- | | 2. Matching | We’ll help you find the side door into startups you want to work for.

You’ll have an unfair advantage against other job applicants: the startup doesn’t just work with you, they get a bundle of you and us. This means you can get a foot in the door for jobs you otherwise wouldn’t qualify for.

Once you find a fit... | | 2. First 3 months | You’ll work full-time to grow the startup. You'll join their company meetings, all hands, Slack, etc. and basically act as a member of their team.

Your Got Users mentor will run a weekly sprint call with you and the startup. They’ll set the overall strategy and iron out your tasks for the week.

You’ll do a separate weekly 1-on-1 call to get personally tutored in the growth experiments you’re working on. It’s also a check-in to make sure you're developing the way you want.

We’ll provide you with playbooks, resources, and direct advice on how to execute when you don’t know how to do something. You’ll live in the Got Users Slack to ask questions (and chat with other apprentices in the program!). | | 3. Month 4 and beyond | After three months, you have the choice of:
