You’ll be working with…

An engineering meeting where surprise canine guests interrupted our Asana board review.

Holiday social hour 2023.
- Tracy: She’s all about learning and being active. She reads 100+ books per year, is a Peloton junkie (28,000+ minutes in 2022), and runs 20+ miles per week. She also finds inventive ways to learn new languages: she practices Chinese by listening to a Taiwanese podcast to get her international news, and she takes Peloton classes in Spanish.
- Tony: He brews his own coffee, cooks all his meals, and sews his own clothes. Learning not to do /everything/ himself (data analytics service in-house? never again!), though he still insists on running a Linux machine at home.
- Michelle: A counterbalance to Tony; she fully enjoys the fruits of society's specialized manufacturing and finds no need to manufacture things herself. An avid participant in local economy and local community 🏳️🌈. Quiet with dryly humorous undertones.
- Deonne: From Figma to fabric art, she makes beautiful things on virtual and physical canvases. She also has an entrepreneurial streak: Born of her own need for a sleek bag to take embroidery projects on the go, she has a side business selling bags she designed for textile artists.
- Frankie: Frankie is like our product; she’s very privacy-oriented, and thus has no LinkedIn. She pulled off a year of #vanlife while simultaneously TAing CS classes at Stanford, and is currently building out — literally, e.g. doing the carpentry for her cupboards and shelves — a new van. (We share these details with her permission, of course.)
- Cristina: Runs marathons, free dives, even moved to a remote island for more beach and ocean time. A former flight attendant and cabin manager, she’s hard to beat in being well-traveled and culturally curious.
Why you’d be excited about us…
- An exceptional product: people rave that Privacy Party is “amazing”, “fucking magic”, and “an essential extension if you access any social media sites."
- An important mission: to help people stay safe online.
- Total greenfield: you get to build GTM from the ground up.
- Trust and freedom: we know you’re good at what you do, which means we don’t micromanage.
- A world-class team of smart, enthusiastic, genuinely nice people (Stanford, Harvard, MIT alums) with strong execution chops.
- A founder/CEO with a social profile & following who's excited to partner closely on growth and marketing.
Why we exist…
[CONTENT WARNING: RACISM, MISOGYNY, PROFANITY]
From Tracy: online abuse has upturned my life many times, and completely changed the way I live. Yet despite its terrible reach, it seems no one is even really trying to solve it. It is profoundly infuriating that this problem disproportionately affects women, non-white people, and other marginalized communities, especially when we are trying to give voice to our expertise, opinions, lived experiences, and demands for a better society. In the end, the only thing I can do to try to fix the problem for myself is to build a company to try to fix it for everyone.
